Our Prepreg Dry Carbon Construction

Prepreg Dry Carbon Construction

Every HAW carbon fibre product is manufactured using a prepreg dry carbon process. The carbon fibre fabric is autoclave-cured under high temperature and pressure, with resin content precisely controlled between 37% and 42%. This ensures each piece achieves exceptional structural rigidity while remaining significantly lighter than wet carbon alternatives.

Why Prepreg Dry Carbon?

Unlike wet carbon — where resin is applied by hand during layup — prepreg carbon fibre comes pre-impregnated with a precise amount of resin. This eliminates human error in resin application and guarantees a consistent fibre-to-resin ratio across every product we make.

The result is a part that is:

  • Lighter — less excess resin means less unnecessary weight
  • Stiffer — higher fibre volume fraction translates directly to greater structural rigidity
  • More consistent — every piece meets the same standard, batch after batch

Toray 3K Twill Weave

We use Toray standard-grade 3K twill-weave carbon fibre tow to produce our fabric. 3K means each carbon bundle contains approximately 3,000 individual filaments. The twill weave creates the classic diagonal texture — one that shifts subtly under changing light, understated yet impossible to ignore.

Toray is the world's leading carbon fibre manufacturer, supplying aerospace, motorsport, and high-performance automotive industries globally. Using Toray fibre means every HAW product starts with the same raw material trusted by the most demanding applications on earth.

Autoclave Curing

Once laid up, each part is vacuum-bagged and cured in an autoclave — a pressurised oven that applies both heat and pressure simultaneously. This process consolidates the laminate, removes any trapped air, and ensures the resin cures to its full mechanical potential.

The combination of autoclave pressure and precise temperature control is what separates true prepreg dry carbon from cheaper alternatives. It cannot be replicated with an oven cure or open-mould wet layup.

UV-Resistant Clear Coat

Every HAW product is finished with a UV-resistant clear coat to protect the carbon weave from yellowing and fading over time. The result is a finish that stays sharp and glossy — whether your car lives on the street, the track, or both.
